General Information


The Consular Section of the Embassy of India provides a variety of Consular Services to both Indian and non-Indian citizens. These include passport and related services, issue of visas, attestation of documents, other consular services, notary services, etc.


The Consular Section is located in the Embassy premises (Av. Salaverry 3006, San Isidro, Lima Tel: 51-1-4602289/2616006/4610371, Fax 51-1-4610374, e-mail: The timings of the Consular Section are 0930 hrs to 1145 hrs. on all working days.  (Please see the list of the holidays)


The Consular Section welcomes information and suggestions for further improving its service as well as about problems being faced, if any, by Indian nationals in Peru and Bolivia.


A biometric enrolment procedure, comprising of taking a webcam facial image and a 10-digit fingerprint scan, has been introduced by the Embassy for all visa applicants between the ages of 12 and 70.

How to apply for Consular Services:


In Peru


Visa/Consular services have to be applied in person at the Embassy. Completed visa application form(s) along with all required documents and the visa/consular fee should be submitted at the Embassy by the applicant. The Visa/Consular fees have to be paid in cash (exact amount) only in US Dollars by the applicant. Payment in Nuevos Soles, Credit Cards or Cheques are not acceptable.


From Bolivia


Completed applications, along with necessary documentation and fees can be deposited with the nearest Honorary Consulates General of India in Bolivia. All the documentation will be sent to the Embassy of India in Peru through the Honorary Consuls General in Bolivia.

In addition to fees for visa or consular service requested, return courier charges as well as bank commission charges must be paid to Honorary Consuls General in Bolivia. The Embassy of India will not be responsible for any delay in the issue of visa/consular service.

Alternatively, visa/consular applicants from Bolivia may also submit their applications at the Embassy, either personally or through a duly authorized and identified person by paying consular/visa fee in cash US Dollars.

Once the visas are issued 7-10 working days are required to send the passports back to the respective Honorary Consulate General of India in Bolivia. Please note that visas are issued once the fees have been deposited in Embassy´s bank account.


All consular fees are subject to change without prior notice. The current fee at time of applying will be charged.
