Visit of Mr. Ashok Das, Joint Secretary (Latin America & Caribbean) to Bolivia (24-25 June 2016)
Mr Ashok Das, Joint Secretary (Latin America & Caribbean) in the Ministry of External Affairs of India accompanied by Mr. Sandeep Chakravorty, Ambassador of India to Bolivia visited La Paz, Bolivia during June 24-25, 2016.
During his visit, they held meetings with the Minister of Development Planning Mr. Rene Orellana, Minister of Health Ms. Ariana Campero and Minister of Public Works Mr Milton Claros Hinojosa. In the meetings, various development related projects that could be covered under possible Indian Lines of Credit was discussed including a Pharmaceutical Industrial Complex. They also reviewed in detail bilateral relations with officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bolivia.
They called on H.E. Mr. Evo Morales, President of Bolivia and had detailed discusses on various aspects of India-Bolivia relations. Accompanied by the Vice Minister for Culture, they visited the Archaeological Complex in Tiwanaku. India is supporting the Ministry of Culture of Bolivia for the solar lighting of the Tiwanaku Archaeological Complex.
On 24 June, a cultural evening was hosted by the Embassy of India at the Military Club of Bolivia which included presentation by eminent Kathak dancer of India, Ms. Pragati Sood Anand and rendition of Indian classical music by Bolivian singer Martin Saravia.
