Celebration of Second Anniversary of Centro Cultural India (CCI) by Embassy of India, Lima


The Embassy of India, Lima celebrated the Second Anniversary of Centro Cultural India (CCI) on December 15, 2017 at the Los Incas Auditorium of the Ministry of Culture in Lima.
The celebrations began with the traditional lamp lighting ceremony conducted by the Charge d’ Affairs of India, Shri Vijay Kumar Kukreja and the Chief Guest, Ms. Denise Ledgard, Chief of the Cabinet of Advisors of Ministerial Dispatch, Ministry of Culture of Peru.

In his opening remarks, Charge d’ Affaires welcomed the Chief Guest and presented her with a memento and books on Indian culture and acknowledged the generous support extended by the Ministry of Culture in Peru to the Centro Cultural India (CCI) for various collaborative activities.  He lauded the collaboration of the Indian and Peruvian teachers, local organisations in promoting Indian culture in Peru.  The event featured presentations by students of classical dances such as Bharatanatyam, Kathak as well as performances by students of Bollywood dance, sharing of experiences by students of Indian cuisine as well as students of the Yoga Pravesh teachers training programme who had recently appeared in the online Theory examination conducted bilingually in Spanish and English by Quality Council of India under Yoga Self Certification Scheme (Level-1 Yoga Instructor) of Ministry of Ayush.  

In all, around 60 numbers comprising students, teachers and visiting artists performed on the stage of the Auditorium and the performances were witnessed by over 500 persons from the general public. The event concluded with the presentation of mementoes to the teachers and collaborators by Charge d’ Affaires.
