Embassy of India, Lima signs MOU with Quality Council of India for Promotion of QCI Yoga Professional Certification Scheme in Peru and Bolivia,
The Embassy of India in Lima, Peru, through its Centro Cultural India (CCI) has been working on promoting Ayurveda and Yoga in Peru and Bolivia since 2016. The Embassy of India in Lima is now partnering with the Quality Council of India (QCI) to develop a Yoga Professional Certification Scheme in Peru and Bolivia. The Ministry of AYUSH has identified the Quality Council of India (QCI) to develop a Voluntary Scheme for Evaluation and Certification of Yoga Professionals. The Yoga Professional Certification Scheme designed by QCI was launched in June 2015.
With this objective, Mr. Sandeep Chakravorty, Ambassador of India to Peru and Bolivia, signed an MoU on January 17, 2017 in New Delhi on behalf of CCI with QCI for promotion of Yoga Scheme in Peru and Bolivia. Dr. Ravi P. Singh, Secretary General, QCI signed the MoU on behalf of QCI in the presence of Mr. A. K. Ganeriwala, Joint Secretary, Ministry of AYUSH. A set of Yoga Professional Certification Scheme, Yoga School Certification Scheme and Yoga Official Guidebook was presented to the Ambassador.
In his opening remarks Mr. R.P. Singh, SG QCI briefed about the various steps taken up by QCI in designing the Scheme based on international best practices involving the renowned Yoga personalities from various streams of Yoga. Mr. A. K. Ganeriwala, Joint Secretary, Ministry of AYUSH explained the genesis of the development of the Yoga Scheme for Yoga Professional and Yoga School. He congratulated QCI for commendable work in pursuing the objective of Promotion of Yoga in the national and international arena. Mr. Sandeep Chakravorty, Ambassador of India to Peru and Bolivia expressed his happiness on this initiative and ensured all his support to take forward the objectives of the MoU for the promotion of the Scheme in Peru, Bolivia and other Latin American countries.
