IIT Kharagpur invites Schools to participate in the Young Innovators’ Program Competition.


Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur is launching the second edition of ‘IIT KGP Young Innovators’ Program’ aimed to foster young minds with scientific enthusiasm and credo to solve the problems facing the globe.

This program will be a platform to identify students with talents and interest in science and technology, help them realize their true ability to think and work creatively on global problems and to  encourage them to take up technology or research based careers. Students from classes VIII, IX and X are eligible to participate in this competition in teams comprising of 2 to 3 members. They will get an opportunity to present their innovative ideas impacting lives of common people and compete with top Indian schools.

The proposed themes are Clean Energy, Health & Cleanliness, Resource Management, Disaster Management, Hardware  Modelling and Product Designing. There will be two qualification rounds. The finalists will be called to IIT Kharagpur, accompanied by their coordinating teachers for the two-day grand finale. They will get an exposure to the cutting edge research facilities available at IIT Kharagpur, participate in workshops conducted by student research groups and experience the unique social and cultural life at the largest and most dynamic IIT campus.

Schools in Peru and Bolivia are invited to take part in this competition with one or more teams  representing the school at the IITKGP Young Innovators’ Program. Participating schools will be required to nominate a coordinating teacher and send his/her details at the earliest for proceeding with the registration and further coordination.
