Indian Participation in ExpoTextil 2018 Centro de Exposiciones Jockey, 8-11 November 2018

India will be participating in the popular textile fair EXPOTEXTIL 2018 in Lima organized at Centro de Exposiciones Jockey from 8-11 November 2018.  The Indian delegation will be represented by a group of 25 companies – 13 companies representing the Synthetic & Rayon Textiles Export Promotion Council (SRTEPC) and 12 companies representing the Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) – with the active support of the Embassy of India.

At the fair, the 25 participating companies will be displaying their latest range of fabrics and yarns, which will include suitings, shirtings, dress-materials, high fashion fabrics, etc. made of manmade fibres and their blends.

The Synthetic & Rayon Textiles Industry in India is vibrant and growing steadily. Indian Man-Made textiles worth of USD 6 billion are imported annually by international buyers from around 150 countries. The Middle East & Gulf region is the largest block of Indian exports, which accounts for 28% of the total exports followed by Asian countries (25%). The sophisticated and quality conscious European Union is the 3rd importer and accounts for 20%.  The leading markets for Indian synthetic textiles today are USA, Turkey, Brazil, Bangladesh, UAE, Germany, UK, Sri Lanka, Italy, Egypt, Belgium etc. High quality of its textiles, competitive prices and reliable supply made India an attractive source of textile products.

India offers the entire range of polyester, rayon, acrylic and blended textile items including Fibre, Yarn, Fabrics, Made-ups and Home-Textiles to discerning international buyers.

Total import of man-made fibre textiles by Peru in 2017 was US$ 568 Mn. of which India’s share was around US$ 57 Mn. accounting for only 10% of the total imports.  There exists a lot of potential for fruitful win-win partnership between the textile industries of both countries.   The Indian participation in the fair offers an excellent opportunity to for long-term linkages and alliances for mutual benefit.

The fair will remain open to visitors from 2 pm to 9 pm every day.
